The Mu Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. commenced its 21st Debutante Program October 2019.  As a result of COVID-19, Mu Phi Omega was not able to host its annual Cotillion during the month of May. Instead, the seven young ladies will make their debut to society on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 6:00 PM through a virtual presentation on Facebook.com/muphiomega, Twitter@muphiomega, and Instagram@muphiomega.
 
The Debutantes participated in a variety of activities designed to enhance their cultural awareness, encourage community involvement, and to promote high scholastic goals. They participated in the Georgetown County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Black History Parade and an Etiquette Workshop with Author/Motivational Speaker Yolanda McCray.
 
The Debutantes also attended special events such as a Father/Daughter Basketball Game at South Carolina State University, the Terence Young Jazz Experience, The Color Purple Play, and the 2020 Dream Girls Conference, Charleston, SC. The young ladies will compete for the title of 2020 Debutante Queen. Debutantes will receive awards and other gifts to help further their education.
